A path to a more
VIBRANT LIVERMORE
Hi, I’m Steven Dunbar.
I will bring the experience, empathy, and effort needed on the City Council to guide Livermore toward a more vibrant, sustainable future.
The “Curb Cut” effect
Small Changes have Large Impacts.
My mother had to plan her travel to school, work, or the local market based on curb-cuts that allowed her to navigate her wheelchair across the street. Though the cuts were designed to help people like my mother, their effect echoed through society. Curb-cuts make it easier for everyone—families with strollers, children with bicycles, and others—to get around. A small change for one group results in a more accessible community for everyone.
The “curb-cut effect” is how I approach life. It combines my lived experience with the detailed methodology of an engineer. It is how I think about creating more opportunities for everyone. I will bring that sensibility to the City Council to benefit all of Livermore. When I evaluate new policies, I will look not just at the policy but at the unintended consequences—both positive and negative—of that policy, taking all voices into account to build a vibrant Livermore.
